Tropio — Terms of Use (Diner Side)

1. Who we are

Tropio (“Tropio”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a service operated by Yves Mugabo, an individual. Tropio is currently run as a private, unregistered undertaking (no registered company). Contact for any privacy matter: kontakt@tropio.pl.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tropio website at tropio.pl and the Tropio mobile application (together, the “Service”) as a diner / member of the public. Separate terms apply to restaurant owners who subscribe to our paid services.

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Tropio is

Tropio is a free informational tool that helps people in Kraków assess how trustworthy a restaurant's online reviews appear to be. For each analyzed restaurant, Tropio may show:

  • a trust score and an adjusted rating (calculated automatically from review data using deterministic statistics);
  • patterns identified in the review data;
  • a plain-language summary of praise and complaints found in review text;
  • a live feed of feedback submitted by diners.

Tropio is an informational and analytical service. It does not sell food, take reservations, or act on behalf of any restaurant.

3. Nature of our analysis — important

Our scores and analyses are automated, statistical assessments, not statements of fact about any restaurant or any person. In particular:

  • Trust scores, adjusted ratings, and pattern descriptions are produced by algorithms and language models applied to publicly available review data. They express an assessment of patterns in data, not an allegation that any restaurant, business, or individual has done anything wrong.
  • Where Tropio describes review activity as showing “patterns characteristic of inauthentic or coordinated activity” (or similar wording), this describes a statistical pattern in the data and is not an accusation that any named restaurant created fake reviews, engaged in fraud, or acted unlawfully.
  • Our analysis reflects opinion and automated assessment, provided for general information only. It should not be relied upon as a definitive or factual judgment about any restaurant.

4. Data sources and freshness

  • Review data analyzed by Tropio is obtained from publicly available third-party sources (including Google, via third-party data providers).
  • Each analysis reflects the review data available as of a particular date or date range, which is shown alongside the analysis where available. Reviews and ratings change over time, so an analysis may be out of date and may not reflect a restaurant's current reviews.
  • We do not guarantee that any analysis is complete, current, accurate, or error-free.

5. Live feedback feed (user-generated content)

The Service may let diners post short feedback (a username, text, and optionally a photo) that can appear in a public feed.

  • You are solely responsible for content you submit. You must not post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, deceptive, or that infringes anyone's rights, and you must not impersonate others or submit content you have no right to share.
  • Submitted content is subject to automated and/or manual moderation. We may refuse, remove, or decline to publish any content at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish anything.
  • We do not endorse and are not responsible for content submitted by users. Opinions expressed in the feed are those of the people who posted them.
  • By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, moderate, and remove that content in connection with operating the Service.
  • Do not submit personal data about other people, and only submit photos you have the right to share.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully; attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; misuse the feedback feature; or use the Service to harass any business or person.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, analyses, scores, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. You may view and use it for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, resell, or systematically extract our content or data without our permission.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any analysis is accurate, current, or complete.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any analysis. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including certain rights that consumers have under Polish and EU law.

10. Restaurants: right of reply and corrections

If you are a restaurant owner or representative and believe an analysis relating to your restaurant is inaccurate, out of date, or unfair, you can contact us at kontakt@tropio.pl and we will review your request.

  • Anyone can report a live-feed post — using the in-feed report option, or by emailing kontakt@tropio.pl. Reported posts are reviewed and may be removed.
  • Restaurant owners can request a correction or takedown of an analysis or a post, and can respond to feedback about their restaurant, via their owner panel.
  • We aim to review requests promptly; there is currently no fixed response-time SLA.

11. Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date below. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland.
